GARAGE DOOR REPAIR · ROGERS AND SPRINGDALE

Garage door repair in Northwest Arkansas

Broken springs, snapped cables, worn rollers, bent tracks and failed openers, repaired the same day most of the time by technicians who work for us, not for a subcontractor.

Chapter 01

What fails: the nine things, read from your driveway

Springs carry the entire weight of the door, and they are the most common failure we see. Most sets last 10,000 to 15,000 cycles, roughly seven to ten years. When one breaks you usually hear a bang, and afterwards the door feels impossibly heavy. Do not operate it.

Lift cables work with the springs to raise the door evenly. They fray from age, from moisture, and from rubbing on a drum that has drifted out of alignment. A snapped cable leaves the door hanging crooked or jammed in the opening. Builder-grade rollers are the quiet culprit behind a loud door: plastic wheels, no bearings, and a bind partway up.

A bump from a bumper pulls a track out of line, and the door starts to catch or grind. The photo eyes near the floor are the most common reason a door refuses to close and reverses with the lights blinking, sometimes from misalignment, sometimes from a wiring break, sometimes from afternoon sun hitting the receiver.

How we work: same day from the closer shop, price before the wrench

You call, and most of the time we can narrow it down from your description and tell you the likely fix before we dispatch anyone. A technician leaves from whichever of our two shops is closer, Rogers or Springdale, and most daytime calls are done the same day. Springs, cables, rollers, hinges, sensors and common opener parts ride on the truck, so most repairs finish in one visit.

Repair visits carry a service call fee that covers the trip and diagnosis. Then you get the full job, parts and labor, quoted before we start. Not after. Bring us a written estimate from another Northwest Arkansas company and we will match it or beat it.

On a two-spring system we replace the pair, because the second spring is the same age as the one that broke. Cables go in as pairs for the same reason. We check the drums and shaft, then re-balance the door so the opener is not carrying weight the springs should.

Chapter 03

Aftercare: why a broken spring means leave it closed

With a spring broken, the door is dangerously heavy and unbalanced. Operating it strains the opener, the cables and the remaining spring, and a door that drops can cause serious injury. Leave it closed and call 479.354.0088. A door stuck open, off its tracks or hit by a vehicle gets the same answer from our 24/7 emergency line.

Every repair ends with a manual balance test, a safety reverse test and a check of the opener travel limits. If the problem comes back because of how we repaired it, we come back and fix it. That is our lifetime workmanship warranty, and it covers every repair we do. Arkansas license 0409380126.

WHAT WE REPAIR

Nine things go wrong more often than everything else combined

The parts that carry the door

Springs
Torsion and extension springs, replaced as a pair on a two-spring system. A bang, then a door that will not lift, is the usual sign.
Cables and drums
Cables replaced in pairs, with the drums, shaft and bearings checked and cable tension reset on both sides.
Rollers
Seized or plastic rollers swapped for ones with bearings. Often the cheapest upgrade with the biggest change in how the door sounds.
Tracks
Realigned where the damage allows, sections replaced where it does not. A door off its tracks is an urgent call, because forcing it back usually bends a panel.

What you notice from the driveway

Opener repair
Stripped gears, failed capacitors, logic boards, drifted travel limits. Belt, chain, screw drive and wall mount, including LiftMaster and MyQ.
Safety sensors
Photo eyes realigned, rewired or replaced, then the auto-reverse tested before we leave.
Panels
A backing vehicle, hail or a derailed door usually damages one or two sections. Where the model is still made, we replace the panels, not the door.

A real person answers at 479.354.0088, from the Rogers shop or the Springdale shop.

“Casey came out immediately and was super friendly and gave his professional recommendation and explained everything thoroughly. They were able to book me the next day and replaced my garage door and opener. Robert did an excellent job installing everything and walked me through how everything works and made sure I was happy before leaving.”

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Garage door repair questions we get asked

Can you repair my garage door today?

Usually, yes. Most repair calls placed during the day are completed the same day, dispatched from our Rogers or Springdale shop depending on which is closer to you. For broken springs, doors off their tracks and doors stuck open we run 24/7 emergency service.

My garage door will not close and the lights are flashing. What is wrong?

That is almost always the photo eye safety sensors near the floor. They may be knocked out of alignment, blocked by something on the garage floor, have a wiring fault, or be picking up direct sunlight. Check for an obstruction and wipe the lenses first. If it still will not close, call us and we will realign or replace them.

Is it safe to use my garage door with a broken spring?

No. The springs carry the weight of the door, so with one broken the door is dangerously heavy and unbalanced. Operating it puts severe strain on the opener, the cables and the remaining spring, and a door that drops is capable of serious injury. Leave it closed and call us.

Should I repair my garage door opener or replace it?

It depends on the age of the unit and what has failed. A sensor, a limit switch or a gear kit is usually worth repairing. A failed logic board or motor on a unit over twelve to fifteen years old often is not. We give you both numbers and let you decide.

Do you work on commercial garage doors?

Yes. We service and repair commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors and high-cycle openers for businesses across Northwest Arkansas, including warehouse and fleet applications.

If the opener is past repair, see our LiftMaster opener options, or find your town on the garage door repair near me page.
